Pack2Earth, is an award-winning, Barcelona-based B2B start-up specialised in formulating and selling robust, biobased materials which compost at ambient temperature to replace fossil-based plastic in packaging, agriculture and other sectors. Our category of material is officially known as home compostable and our materials will completely compost even if they unfortunately form part of the 79% of plastic which currently ends its life in landfill or the great outdoors. Our area of focus is the hardest category of materials, which are high barrier home compostable materials, i.e. materials with high barriers to water vapour, oxygen and grease capable of giving product packaged in them a long shelf-life before the composting process begins, even if those products have a high moisture content. We currently have 3 materials on the market; a flexible film, an injection material and a 3D printing material. They are drop-in solutions which work in the same machinery, molds and at the same cycle speeds as fossil-based plastics. While we can outsource the production of our materials to order, our preferred business model is licensing our patented and patent pending formulations to the packaging manufacturers, so they can use their existing equipment to manufacture our materials in industrial volumes wherever in the world they're needed. Our shareholders include well-known names like Mondelez International, EIT Food and Swanlaab VC, amongst others. Our materials are there while you need them, gone when you don't.
