FireDrone

FireDrone AG is a Swiss deeptech company building robotic systems that operate where conventional drones fail: inside fires, near molten metal, and in extreme-heat industrial environments. Headquartered in Dübendorf, we are a spin-off from Empa (Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology) and EPFL, founded on more than five years of research into thermal protection, materials science, and aerial robotics.

Our core technology combines a proprietary aerogel insulation system with internal thermal management, allowing onboard electronics to remain within safe operating temperatures while the airframe is exposed to ambient conditions exceeding 200°C. This enables sustained flight and sensing missions in scenarios that today rely on human responders entering hazardous zones — wildfires, structural fires, steelworks, cement plants, and petrochemical facilities.
