Wind energy is crucial for our future, but faces major hurdles. Traditional turbines struggle with intermittent winds at lower altitudes and cause visual pollution that communities oppose. While high-altitude winds are significantly stronger and more consistent, current airborne wind energy systems remain too expensive and complex to harvest them effectively. Furthermore, conventional offshore and remote grid turbines face massive construction and transportation costs. Our team combines aerospace engineering with power systems experience. AlphAnemo replaces blades with a multi-kite, rigid-wing system having just one moving part, vastly improving reliability. Starting at small scale for early revenue, we target the $40B remote and offshore wind energy market.
